Recently, a study into Charles Bonnet syndrome was conducted at the Queensland Brain Institute, University of Queensland.The title of this study was: Charles Bonnet Syndrome: An investigation into the mechanisms underlying the development of visual hallucinations in acquired loss of vision.
Undertaken by two researchers, Dr Michael Dwyer and Professor Jason Mattingley, CBS was explored in terms of (a) neuro-imaging (brain activity) in CBS-affected individuals, (b) brief questionnaire and (c) contact with ophthalmologists and optometrists across Australia and New Zealand.
Their findings will be shared here in the coming weeks.
